FUNDING OPTIONS IN ICELAND
Iceland has a reimbursement scheme for film and TV production costs spent on the territory. The scheme is simple, transparent, and effective, and offers a refund of up to 35% of the production cost.

Minimum of 350 Millions ISK (2.5 Millions $) of the production cost spent in Iceland

Minimum of 30 working days in Iceland (pre-production, shooting or post-production); and minimum 10 shooting days on the territory

Minimum of 50 people hired and taxed in Iceland over the project, for a total of at least 50 working days altogether
Icelandic productions are entitled to receive European content status due to Iceland's membership in the European Economic Area. Productions are classified as European material when released in Europe, without affecting any quotas on the release of non-European content material there. Iceland is also a member of Eurimages, the film fund of the European Council, which allows Icelandic producers to apply for production grants on European co-productions.
